John and Amber Knott
Coastal Repair Solutions was started in January 2020 by John Knott III. After graduating with a dual Master of Business Administration and Master of Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, John joined his family's laundromat business in Mobile, Alabama.
He performed all the maintenance on their commercial washers and dryers and was soon being asked by friends and family to help with their home appliance repairs. He started off focusing on appliances and has since earned his HVAC & Refrigeration license, become a Generac dealer and servicer, earned his Master Plumber & Gas Fitter license, his Pest Control license, and is licensed as an Electrical Contractor.
His wife, Amber, left her corporate job of 15 years in 2021 to join Coastal Repair Solutions full-time. She handles the administration and marketing aspects of the business.

Patrick Carpenter
Patrick Carpenter was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama. He graduated from UMS-Wright Preparatory School in 2002 then attended LSU where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management and a minor in Business Administration. After college, Patrick moved to Houston, Texas to work with a commercial general contractor for the next 5 years building multiple ground-up construction projects before moving over to the developers’ side where he spent the next 10 plus years managing the overall development and construction process from the owners’ side of the business.
In Houston, Patrick met his wife, Mandy. They married in Mandeville, LA and have 3 children. Mandy and Patrick had hopes of relocating to Mobile to start the next chapter of their lives, raising their children in the same environment they were raised. After searching for new business ventures in the area, a friend suggested that Patrick reach out to a former classmate and baseball teammate, John Knott III, in hopes of joining forces to grow Coastal Repair Solutions into the premium home and commercial services company along the Gulf Coast. That dream became a reality in the summer of 2024 when Patrick and his family relocated to Mobile from Houston.
When not working, Patrick enjoys golfing, fishing, hunting, and coaching his children in sports.
The Story
Years ago, two young men met at UMS-Wright Preparatory School and became friends; they were John Knott and Patrick Carpenter and are now the partners at Coastal Repair Solutions. After graduation, they went their separate ways, and John Knott headed to the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa then off to University of Alabama at Birmingham where he succeeded in earning dual master’s degrees in business administration and public health. Upon returning home to Mobile, John joined his family’s laundromat business. He performed all the maintenance on their commercial washers and dryers. Soon, his friends and family began to ask him for help with their home appliance repairs. While he began with a focus on household appliances, he went on to earn his HVAC & Refrigeration license, became a Generac dealer and servicer, earned a license as a Master Plumber and Gas Filter, obtained a Pest Control license, and became a licensed Electrical contractor.
In January of 2020, John Knott started Coastal Repairs Solutions. His business provides heating and cooling, plumbing and gas, electrical, whole home generator, pest control, and appliance services. They are a one-stop shop home services company, who provide the same high-quality service to their commercial clients as well. At Coastal Repair Solutions, they have a vast array of yearly service plans and financing options for all of their services.
John’s wife, Amber, left her corporate job of 15 years in 2021 to join her husband with working for Coastal Repair Solutions full-time. Amber handles the operations and marketing aspects of the business. This past month, Patrick Carpenter, John’s close friend from high school, moved his family from Houston, Texas to join Coastal Repair Solutions as a partner. Patrick will oversee the operations and marketing aspects while working to expand, scale, and grow the business along the Gulf Coast. Patrick’s background is in commercial construction, development, and management. He has enjoyed being able to introduce his family to his hometown in Mobile.
The staff at Coastal Repair Solutions prides themselves on being a locally owned family business, putting their customer’s satisfaction as their number one goal. They strive to be an honest and affordable solution across multiple specialties for home and business owners in Mobile and Baldwin Counties. They also want to set an example for their children, their biggest inspiration, allowing them to see that hard work and perseverance pays off. They want to show them how doing the right thing and being a trustworthy person and business owner leads to positive results.
The Knott and Carpenter families love living in Mobile and interacting within the community. Because they offer such a wide scope of services, no day and no job are ever the same. There is a constant change of pace, locations, repair, and customer, making the job interesting and challenging.
John and Amber Knott live in Midtown Mobile and have an 18-month-old daughter, Pearl. They have two French Bulldogs, Bleu and Winnie. The family loves celebrating Mardi Gras and enjoys spending weekends at the Battlehouse Pool or the beach. In addition to Coastal Repair Solutions, the Knott family also owns two laundromats in Mobile, Camellia Laundry, a laundromat in Orange Beach, Beach Laundry, and are the partners for HappyNest Laundry Pickup and Delivery in Mobile and Baldwin counties.
Patrick Carpenter is married to his wife, Mandy. They have three children: Anderson (8), Rogers (6) and Mignon (4) that all attend UMS-Wright Preparatory School. The family has made Spring Hill their new home.
